And we're off

It's us against Earl! We started out around close to 1 a.m. on Friday morning. Earl was heading into the Outer Banks with a course aimed directly to where we were going. We stayed ahead of him the entire way. At a couple of stops we checked the weather and called the campgrounds. Weather not so good, campgrounds optimistic. They kept the bridges to the Cape open so we came across. Coming up the cape it was the first time we hit rain. It was just outside Hyanisport, apparantly the Kennedy's had arranged for them to have beautiful skies while their neighbors got wet. We arrived at the campgrounds just past noon to beautiful weather but the outlook not so good. Everyone in the campground had their eyes glued to the weather channel. Earl was set to hit in the middle of the night with hurricane force winds and lots of rain. After dinner we took Hunk down to the beach to see the waves come in. He LOVED it! He chased the waves out and ran away when they came in. He only missed twice but they were big misses and since I had the other end of the leash I missed too. Once we were over that we walked back from he beach looking like we already came through the hurricane. We went to bed with the attitude of what will happen will happen and we will deal with it in the morning.
